Do not compare “flux” and rated aerator GPM as if they are the same field. The source documents use both terms. This guide retains the manufacturer’s terminology and flags missing GPM values instead of converting a hydraulic flux entry into a faucet rating.

How to Select a Commercial Touchless Faucet

Commercial selection should start with system constraints, then narrow to the SKU. Finish is a coordination decision after the operating requirements are established.

1. Detection Geometry

Coordinate published sensor range with spout reach, basin depth, backsplash reflectivity and adjacent sensor fixtures. Avoid overlapping faucet and soap-dispenser centerlines where the installation guide warns of unintended activation.

2. Rated Flow

3. Power Architecture

4. Deck & Rough-In

Verify single-hole/deck-mount geometry, countertop thickness, drilling diameter and the route for sensor cable, flexible hose and supply lines before countertops are released.

5. Temperature Strategy

Confirm cold-only, tempered or hot/cold mixing requirements. Several installation sheets show an under-sink thermostatic/manual mixing arrangement rather than handles at the faucet.

6. Service Access

Reserve clear access to the control box, batteries, solenoid, supply connections and isolation points. Commercial maintenance should not require removing the basin or countertop.

Which commercial touchless faucet is “best”?

There is no defensible universal ranking. The correct SKU depends on required flow, sensor geometry, power source, pressure, finish, deck conditions, temperature strategy and service access.

Should a specifier use the product page or the PDF?

Use both during evaluation, then require the current approved submittal for construction. When published values conflict, the discrepancy should be resolved before procurement.

Can all five products be treated as 0.5 GPM faucets?

No. JSD637-ORB, FS1094RG and FS298SBNDP publish 0.5 GPM. FS-5029AB documentation publishes 1.2 GPM at 60 PSI, while FS9832BDP does not state an aerator GPM on the current SKU page.
